Information Day on the Pact on Migration and Asylum

EMN Estonia and the Ministry of the Interior invite participants to the second Information Day on the Pact on Migration and Asylum on 10 February 2026, to provide an overview of the most significant changes accompanying the pact in Estonian and European Union practice.

During the event, presentations will be delivered by the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA), Ministry of the Interior, the Representation of the European Commission in Estonia, the Police and Border Guard Board, the Ministry of Culture, the Social Insurance Board, eu-LISA, and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The presentations will be delivered in Estonian, with the exeption of presentations by EUAA and eu-LISA which will be held in English.

The event will take place at the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences. Registration for the information day is open until 4 February (inclusive). The event will be recorded.

The Police and Border Guard Board will present the national implementation plan from their perspective, the crisis and resilience plan, and the asylum border procedure.

eu-LISA will present the Eurodac and other IT developments related to the pact.


11:10–12:30 Darja Pokrivac, Pietro Orfei (online), EUAA (in English)
Presentation of the EUAA Pact Programme and Database on International Protection in Europe (DIP).

13:30-13:50 Liis Paloots, Social Insurance Board
The Social Insurance Board will present changes related to the reception of applicants for international protection, as well as changes concerning unaccompanied minors and vulnerable persons.

The Ministry of Culture will present the adaptation programme targeted at applicants for international protection.

The Police and Border Guard Board will present changes related to the detention centre.
