EMN Austria National Conference: Forecasting the Future of International Migration

September 29, from 10 AM to 6 PM (Estonian time), the EMN Austria National Contact Point conference will take place, focusing on forecasting the future of international migration. Specifically, an overview will be provided of existing models, studies, and tools used to predict developments in the field of migration; it will be described how migration forecasts can best be utilized in policy processes; the impact of forecasts on national and European policy processes will be discussed, and finally, the future of migration forecasting will be explored. The conference is organized in cooperation with the Global Migration Data Analysis Centre (GMDAC) of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

Speakers at the event include international migration researchers, Austrian and European policymakers with experience in developing and utilizing migration forecasts, and representatives from think tanks.
