On September 28 at 2:30 PM (Estonian time), a roundtable will be held within the framework of the Footprints series, jointly organized by the World Bank and EMN, this time focusing on circularmigration. The roundtable will discuss the following topics:
- Guest worker programs have a long history, but not all of these programs have been successful. What are the lessons learned from past experiences? What are the best practices regarding cost-sharing, worker selection, preparation, and return management?
- What are the best practices in ethical recruitment, protection of workers’ rights, reducing vulnerability, social protection and insurance, and providing emotional support?
- Can the circular migration model for seasonal workers also be applied to other sectors?
